Extreme Moto Cross

The Comcast Arena in Everett sends me email deals all the time for events happening there. I couldn't pass up a recent offer for $12 tickets to Extreme Moto Cross, so I got tix for me and the kiddos.

I've never been to a motocross show, and didn't really know what one entailed. Turns out it's guys on motorbikes doing jumping stunts. Some people did flips off the ramp, some people rode circles in the cage, and some people did random ground stunts on their bikes like riding them while standing on the seats.

I like a good motorcycle flip as much as the next person, so for the relatively inexpensive evening of entertainment, I was satisfied. But the orderliness-freak inside me couldn't help but wish the show was better organized. Like, how about an MC to announce the rider's names and maybe some bio information? Or explain something about the stunts, riders, training, etc. How does one end up starring in a motocross show? You have to admit, it's an odd line of work.

The kids loved it anyway. We had really good seats and they were able to stand up in the front row and receive high fives from the riders after their jumps. The kids were SO excited to get high fived.

I just heard that WWE wrestling is coming to town next month. I might have to look into getting tickets for that, since we all seem to love white trash entertainment so much.

Neti Pot

After years of being plagued with sinus problems, I finally discovered the Neti Pot.

The Neti Pot is a little teapot that you fill with a salt mixture and water and then tilt up into your nose and flush out your sinuses. The water goes up one nostril and out the other, taking all your yucky snot and bacteria with it!

It's kind of hard to get used to the sensation of water going up inside your head, and if you don't angle yourself over enough you'll just pour it all down the back of your throat. But once you get the hang of it, it feels so good on your aching sinus cavity to flush that cold water up there.

Just always use distilled or previously boiled water. Some people in Louisiana used tap water and got amoebas in their brains.

I had a terrible sinus infection, but it cleared up completely after using the Neti pot for three days. No doctor visit, no antibiotics. It was a miracle!
